Every post in Postzee follows a lifecycle from creation to publication. Understanding these statuses helps you manage your content pipeline and troubleshoot issues.

Post statuses

A post progresses through these statuses:

Status transitions

Draft to Scheduled

When you set a date/time and click Schedule, the post moves from Draft to Scheduled. It appears on your Calendar with a blue indicator. You can still edit the content and reschedule while in this status.

Scheduled to Queue

At the scheduled time, the post automatically enters the Queue. Postzee’s background workers pick it up and begin the publishing process. This transition is automatic — no action needed from you.

Queue to Published

The worker sends your content to the platform’s API (Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, etc.). On success, the post moves to Published and the purple indicator appears on your Calendar.

Queue to Error

If the platform’s API rejects the post or a connection issue occurs, the post moves to Error status. The specific error reason is saved so you can diagnose the problem.

What you can do at each status

Handling errors

When a post fails, here’s how to fix it:
  1. Find the post on your Calendar (it has a red indicator)
  2. Click on it to see the error details
  3. Fix the underlying issue based on the error reason
  4. Click Retry to attempt publishing again

Common error reasons

Multi-channel post behavior

When you publish to multiple channels simultaneously:
  • Each channel is processed independently
  • If one channel fails, the others still publish successfully
  • Failed channels show an Error status — you can retry them individually
  • All posts in the same group share a group ID linking them together

Example

You schedule a post for Instagram, LinkedIn, and X (Twitter) at 10:00 AM: In this case, you only need to reconnect your X (Twitter) account and retry that single post. Instagram and LinkedIn are already live.

Deletion

When you delete a post:
  • Draft / Scheduled — the post is removed from your Calendar. Nothing was published.
  • Published — the post is removed from Postzee’s Calendar, but the content remains live on the platform. To remove it from the platform, you need to delete it directly from Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.
  • Error — the post is removed. Since it was never published, there’s nothing to clean up.
Deleting a post in Postzee does not delete it from the social media platform. If a post was already published, you must remove it directly from the platform.
